Marble Mountain Classic mountain bike race

When, where and how the Abel Tasman Marble Mountain Classic will be ridden.


When: ANZAC Weekend Saturday 24th April 2010 starting at 10am. Assembly from 8.30am at the Kaiteriteri Beach carpark.

Where: Kaiteriteri Beach, 15 minutes from Motueka near Nelson New Zealand

How: Race Length Approximately 35km. Riders of all levels are welcome. Any funds raised from the event go to the Motueka Community Hospital. Riders leave Kaiteriteri Beach, ride to Marahau and begin a climb up the Marble Mountain (Takaka Hill). Then it's almost all downhill back to Kaiteriteri Beach and the finish.


Where to Stay: Kaiteriteri Beach is a favourite summer holiday destination for visitors from all around the world. There is a very well equipped camping ground with tent and caravan sites, cabins and also caravans to rent. There is a large Lodge with backpacker to ensuite units, a number of motels and numerous holiday homes able to be rented.

Marahau is only a short drive past Kaiteriteri and offers plenty of accommodation and the start of New Zealand's Abel Tasman National Park.
